Simon Russell

The September Dossier is Simon’s third album with 30iPS, comprising music from his evocative score to James Bluemel’s BBC TV series Once upon a time in Iraq.

In addition to his Emmy-winning work on Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer, Simon scored the multi award-winning series Exodus: Our Journey to Europe & Exodus: Our Journey Continues for KEO films and Hanna Marking's acclaimed documentary films Afghan Star and Smash & Grab - The story of the Pink Panthers.

Simon has also provided music for Akram Khan’s The Curry House Kid which received the Bronze medal at the New York Film & TV Awards and Waldemar Januszczak's BBC series Rococo: Travel, Pleasure & Madness and From St. Peter's to St. Paul's which was the recipient of a Royal Television Society Award.

He has also scored all 52 episodes of Aardman's cult animation series Canamals and found time to remix early John Barry recordings with the English Chamber Orchestra while lending his virtuoso guitar hand to the mind-blending sound of Sudanese ritual voodoo practitioners Rango and Tibetan mountain singer Ngawang Lodup.

Simon lives in North London with his family and an ever-expanding eclectic collection of instruments.
